Currituck County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at the Historic Currituck County Courthouse on September 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM and possibly take action on:
PB 26-11 K&S North Mine: Jennings Smith is requesting a special use permit to excavate 12.11 acres for the extraction of sand and topsoil on two parcels equaling 201.33 acres located in Poplar Branch, Tax Map 83, Parcel 6B and Parcel 8, Poplar Branch Township.
PB 26-12 Siren Song: Christopher Kendall is requesting a special use permit to operate a tattoo parlor at 6556 Caratoke Highway in Grandy, Tax Map 108, Parcel 97, Poplar Branch Township.
The application is available for review at the Historic Courthouse, Mon. – Fri., 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Substantial changes to these proposals may be made following the public hearing.
